Omnibank Donates GHC50K Towards Celebration Of Ghana@ 60

Towards the celebration of Ghana’s 60th Independence Anniversary, Omnibank has donated an amount of GHC 50,000.00 to the National Planning Committee – Ghana 60 Years On towards the 2017 independence celebrations.

The Managing Director of the bank, Mr. Philip Oti-Mensah, told Peacefmonline.com in an interview that their decision to donate towards the celebration of this mammoth event is to showcase to Ghanaians that Omnibank, embraces the idea of mobilizing for the future.

“As a bank with close to 30 years of experience in Ghana, we understand what it means to develop slowing and decide to mobilize and grow further…we started rebranding three years ago and last year, we became a bank…we are also mobilizing for the future”, he said.

Aside the celebration of the event which takes place next Monday, Mr. Philip Oti-Mensah is expecting government to stay committed to its promise of stabilizing Ghana’s economy to make businesses grow.

“Beyond the celebration, we have also taken notice of what government has said about stabilizing the economy. That is the bigger interest to us as bank. We look forward to partner government and share ideas to stabilize the economy”, he quipped.

He continued that “Omnibank is a bank that focuses on entrepreneurs. So, as much as we would like to reduce interest rate for businesses to thrive, we have to sometimes compete with the government for the same sources of funds and that makes it difficult.

My main message to government is that as they mobilize for the future, making the macro economy environment stable, should be the focus.”

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo inaugurated a 30-member Planning Committee to spearhead activities toward the nation’s 60th anniversary.

Inaugurating the Committee at the Flagstaff House in Accra, the president said it was befitting that Ghana celebrated its 60th Anniversary considering its symbolism and the many milestones the country had chalked democratically since independence.
