Man Hacks Lover To Death

A 30-year-old man, Kwabena Appiah and his girlfriend, Adwoa Pokuaa, have been found dead in a bush near Manso-Odaho in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region by the police, with their bodies in advanced stage of decomposition.

Kwabena Appiah, a palm-wine tapper from Ntebere in the same district, is believed to have hacked his lover, a 34-year-old orange seller, to death in one of the most gruesome incidents ever witnessed in the village before he committed suicide by consuming poison.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE, Chief Inspector Stephen Oduro said the young woman had gone to meet Kwabena Appiah to thank him for buying her a mobile phone as compensation for agreeing to reconcile with him.

According to him, the man, who had an ulterior motive, lured Adwoa Pokuaa into the bush where he struck her several times with a sharp edged weapon suspected to be a cutlass, leading to her instant death.

Appiah hid the body under a palm tree before later consuming a poisonous substance that resulted in his death at the same area, the police officer indicated.

The law enforcement officer said the family of the woman opined that the incident resulted from a love relationship which went sour as the lady at a point walked out of the man’s life after a disagreement.

Their bodies have since been buried because of the state in which they were found, Chief Inspector Oduro disclosed.
