FIFA Ranking: Egypt, Only African Side To Climb Into Top 20

Ghana's 2018 World Cup group opponents Egypt are the only African country to be in the top 20 as FIFA announced the latest world rankings, while Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana still stay out of that range despite moving some few places up.

While there were limited movements in the rankings overall, the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finalists, The Pharaohs climbed three places up and broke into the top 20.

Another climber since the last update is Burkina Faso, who jumped two spots into 36th position – their best ever place in the country’s history.  Ghana moved two places up the table to 43rd and ranked 8th in Africa.

CAF have 11 teams in the top 50 ranked nations, which is only bettered by Europe with 26 sides.

Ghana will play the Pharaohs in November this year in the 2018 World Cup qualifier after losing the first leg in Alexandria by 2-0.
