GOC 3rd Vice Presidential Candidate, Evans Yeboah, Launches Elections Campaign

Evans Yeboah, Badminton Association of Ghana National Board Treasurer, today published his campaign Manifesto after his nomination was approved by the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) Electoral Commission in his bid to become the next 3rd Vice President at the GOC General Congress scheduled in Accra, Ghana, on 15th March 2017.

In his Manifesto, Yeboah, who has also been the National Board Treasurer of the Badminton Association’s Executive Board since 2013, outlines his vision for Olympic Sports Committee and his key pledges should he be elected as 3rd Vice President of GOC. Speaking at the launch of his Manifesto, Evans Yeboah, said today:
“I am committed to the Ghana Olympic growth and commercial success of every associated sport and I want to ensure the GOC operates with the highest standards of financial governance and development and success participations of our global Olympic events. My mission is, therefore, to managerially promote GOC’s cause far and wide, including across the Olympic Movement.

“My background in strategic telecommunication, media and technology management administration with a decent exposure in Financial Management and investment banking and has indicated requirements that closely indicate my background and expertise for this position.

I am a commercial team leader with 15-years’ leading country assignments in Finance, Technology growth businesses functions globally.

A finance turnaround specialist with in-depth experience in the Telecommunications and Investment Banking sectors. Having a decent exposure experience in Telecommunications, Media and Technology Division in Goldman Sachs and the currently the Managing Director of Second largest converged Internet Data Service Company in Ghana-managing an influence team of across the sub-region.

Furthermore, as a Chartered Management Accountant with considerable Business Schools exposure whilst being a Finance Doctoral Candidate at Temple University- all to a determined experience ready to enhance and support the financial management of our GOC.

I have served our sport across decade years in a variety of leading roles that have helped to drive forward our sporting disciplines and ensured our GOC reputation is protected and enhanced.

“If elected as 3rd Vice President, I would develop Ghana sport in close collaboration with National Federations and athletes – respecting good governance and high ethical and welfare standards whilst celebrating our next olympian athlete for 2020 and beyond.”

Evans Yeboah ’s four key pledges are to:

• Promote the global growth and expansion of sports by enhancing the business community interest in sports.
• Ensure the best standards of financial management and fundraising-integral adherence objects of the Finance Committee of GOC
• Enhancing the growing influence of technology in Sport
• Improve the image of GOC further and promote events more effectively

Evans has also today received the full backing of the Badminton Association of Ghana and 48 delegates votes within the Olympic Association for 15th March 2017 Congress elections
