John Boadu Compensated With Tema Oil Refinery Board

Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has been appointed as a Board member of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), in what is largely seen as a compensation package from Akufo-Addo, for those who he could not make ministers or heads of key state institutions.

The Minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko, has since sworn the NPP scribe and others into office.

The ceremony took place on Monday, at the Ministry’s conference room in Accra.

The other members of the board include, the Managing Director of TOR, Isaac Osei, Kofi Brako; the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tema Central Constituency, Dr William Abayaawiea Atuilik, Edith Sapara-Grant, Seth Achamfour-Yeboah, Kendon Appenteng and Nene Abayaateye Amegatcher.

After administering the Oath of Office and Oath of Secrecy to the members, the Energy Minister, congratulated and expressed gratitude to the members for their decision to serve the nation.

The Minister, further assured the Board of his unflinching support and urged them to set strategic directions, collaborate with management, operate with maximum efficiency, discharge their duties professionally and encouraged them to ensure the success of TOR.

Mr. Tongeaan Kugbilsong Nanlebegtang, Chairman of the Board, expressed his appreciation to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, for the opportunity, and assured the Energy Minister of the Board’s commitment to work assiduously to revamp TOR.

Dignitaries present were; Prof. Thomas MbaAkabzaa, Chief Director of the Energy Ministry, Directors from the Energy Ministry and General Managers of the Tema Oil Refinery, a statement signed by King A. Wellington; Communications Officer of the Energy Ministry, said.
