Isaac Asare Bediako, unemployed, was on Friday put before the Kade District Magistrate Court for allegedly killing his sister.
Bediako, whose plea was not taken, was on a provisional charge of murder and remanded in prison custody until December 01.
Police Inspector D. T. Nartey, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Iliasu that until her death, Felicia Bediako, 30 and her brother lived with their parents at Akyem Takyimang.
He said on October 29, Isaac returned from town heavily drunk and his mother, who had then prepared food, asked him to eat but he declined saying he would go to town and take the meals on his return.
The prosecutor said Isaac's elder brother, Kwabena Osei Agyare, angered by his attitude, insulted him for not being interested in food but only in drinks.
He said Bediako became offended by his brother's remarks and a fight ensued.
Their Sister, Felicia, rushed in to separate them but in the process, a kitchen stool which Isaac allegedly threw at Agyare hit Felicia in the abdomen and she fell down unconscious.
The prosecutor said people around the area raised the alarm and rushed to the scene but when all efforts to resuscitate her failed, Felicia was sent to a local clinic which referred her to the Kade government hospital but she was pronounced dead soon on arrival.
In remanding the accused, Mr Iliasu told him that his personal liberties would have to be curtailed for a while.
Mr Iliasu, however, advised him to be of good behaviour while in prison custody and cooperate with the authorities and the police in their investigations.
