Tema Traditional Council Denies Attacking Kempes

Nii Adjei Kraku 11, the Tema New Town Chief, has denied media reports that the local Traditional Council has slammed Mr Robert Kempes Ofosuware, former Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) as the worse performing MCE.

At a news conference in Tema, Nii Kraku, who described the story attributed to the Council as “yellow journalism” noted that Mr Kempes Ofosuware was one of the best performing MCEs.

He said during the former MCE’s era the Metropolis witnessed a number of landmark developmental projects, including the reconstruction of the Tema Canoe mending wharf.

He said Mr Kempes Ofosuware built schools, dredged the canoe landing beach, distributed outboard motors and provided a huge Chorkor smoker for the processing of fish.

Nii Kraku said the former MCE upgraded the roads in Tema so massively that he was nicknamed, “Mr Asphalt”.

"In addition to this, Kempes Ofosuware has a cordial relationship with the Tema Traditional Council,” he said.
Nii Kraku advised media practitioners to eschew sensationalism and always endevour to report facts.

Mr Kempes Ofosuware in an interaction with the media over the story said he knew the report was a lie.
“The publication was just an unfortunate mistake,” he said.
