The Executive Committee is expected to ratify an eight-match ban recommended by Match Review Panel for referee Ernest Baafi for disallowing Liberty Professionals a penalty at Elmina Sharks.

Liberty's Prosper Avor was whacked down inside the penalty box by a Sharks player but the referee waived play to continue.

After watching the footage, the Review Panel was convinced Baafi had it wrong in a situation which was avoidable.

The Kumasi-based referee, who could barely run in the game as he appeared limping, vehemently denied the visitors what was clearly a penalty and intimidatingly warned the victim of the attack to stand up and play.
