Michael Tsordu, 35, a farmer, who allegedly stabbed and killed his cousin at Adaklu-Hehekpoe on Picnic Day, during a fight over who should be in control of their uncle’s chainsaw machine, has been arrested by the police.
A source close to the Ho Municipal Police Station told The Ghanaian Times yesterday that Tsordu who is also known as ‘Government’ fled the village immediately after the incident which occurred at about 8.80pm.
He, however, returned to Hehekpoe the next morning only to be arrested by local townsmen who handed him over to the police.
According to the spokesman, Tsorme who could not stand the strength of his cousin during the fight, pulled out a flick-knife from his bag and stabbed him beneath the left breast.
The deceased, Prince Asigbe was said to have staggered for about 80 metres towards his house but fell down in a pool of blood and died on the way.
In his police caution statement, Tsordu stated that he remembered drawing the knife from his bag to slash the palm of his cousin but did not remember stabbing him.
The body of the deceased is at the Ho Regional Hospital, awaiting autopsy. At the time of filing this report, Tsordu was set to appear before a Ho District Magistrate Court on a charge of murder.
