Ken Agyapong’s Suicide Mission: Completely Needless – Kweku Baako

Controversial Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong’s quest to commit suicide if the brother of former President John Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama is not jailed has been described as ‘distressing’.

Mr Agyapong has for several weeks alleged that Mr Mahama issued dud cheques to the Customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and has subsequently been on a media crusade on several platforms agitating that EOCO should investigate Mr Mahama.

Subsequently, Mr Mahama was invited by EOCO and was asked to pay GHc12.7million to the state by May 8, 2017.

Reacting to the EOCO directive, Mr Agyapong said ”I will take in poison and kill myself if Ibrahim Mahama is not jailed, he should watch and hear me well, I will take in poison and die if Ibrahim is not jailed”.

However, speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr said: “it’s distressing…exposing what you see as bad business by a business entity I think there is nothing wrong with it but to proceed further to say that if he is not jailed you will poison yourself; you change the picture. That was completely needless but let’s see that as part of the noise and forget it. The substantive issue is that there was a business transaction and it didn’t go well, there were arrangement, it didn’t go well; let the two companies sit with these appropriate bodies, focus on these issues, redeem the obligation and get business going.
