Stop Fraudulent Practice At Work

Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, has sounded a strong word of caution to Ghanaian workers, particularly those in the banking and investment management institutions, to stop engaging in “stealing and fraudulent practices at their work places.”

These practices, according to Dr. Letsa, if not stopped immediately, will definitely land their institutions into the grips of the law.

He could not fathom why management and staff members of some financial institutions would connive and succeed in dumping many unsuspecting Ghanaians of their funds and investments.

Speaking in an interview with Today on the sideline of the launch of the Ho branch of Man Capital Partners recently, Dr. Letsa cited many instances where loans and savings institutions which came to Ho municipality to set up their commercial operations ended up “duping and stealing” many people in Ho and its adjoining communities.

“I want state clearly that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government under my leadership as the Volta regional minister will not allow management and staff members of any financial and banking institution which comes to do business in the region to defraud anybody of their money and go scot-free again.

“I will make sure that the law of the land deals with them,” he stressed.

He welcomed the setting up of the offices of many financial institutions in the region, but kicked against financial institutions that have deliberately taken advantage of hard-working people and duped them of their savings or investments.

To this end, he urged companies in the region to put in place best strategies to safeguard investments of their clients.

He maintained that government will not tolerate any practice that will be detrimental to “your customers or clients and end up making them poorer.

“…we are a government that seeks to protect the interest of both individuals and corporate entities as we create the environment for wealth creation. You can therefore, count on us to create the enabling environment to operate successfully and to protect your investments in the region.
