Effutu Celebrate Aboakyer

Mr Kofi Dzamesi, Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, has commended the chiefs and people of Effutu for peace and harmony sustained during the annual Aboakyer festival.

He expressed the hope that this atmosphere of peace would help ensure development of the area.

Mr Dzamesi, who deputized for President Nana Akufu Addo, said this during the Aboakyer festival held at Winneba.

Tuafo Asafo Number One Company was the group that brought a live antelope from the bush to the durbar ground at 1000 hrs and Neenyi Ghartey VII, Paramount Chief of Effutu Traditional area, stepped on it thrice to signify the celebration of the festival.

Dentsefo Asafo Number Two, who were not successful with a catch, return from the bush and reported themselves to Neenyi Ghartey VII who commended them for their effort and consoled them for being unable to find a catch.

Mr Kwamena Duncan, Central Regional Minister, special Guest of Honour, said peace is essential and for that matter it was about time for Effutu to embrace peace and rally behind the Paramount Chief to fight for their common goal.
