Ibrahim Mahama Does Not Owe Us – GACL

The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has denied reports that Ibrahim Mahama, brother of former President John Mahama, owed it GHC8 million in aviation fuel costs and taxes.

Media reports last week claimed Mr Mahama who is the owner of Engineers and Planners Company Limited, piled up the bill through the use of a supposed private jet he owns; rumours that cause his lawyers, Lithur Brew Company to officially write to the GACL.

But the GACL its response dated May 5 and signed by Dr J. Okwesie Arthur, Deputy Manager Director of the GACL denied the claims. “Reference to your letter dated 3rd May, 2017 on the above subject, we wish to state that Engineers and Planners Company Limited is not indebted to Ghana Airports Company Limited as at 5th May 2017,” On Friday, May 5, Mr Mahama fully settled his indebtedness to the Ghana Revenue.
