Controller & Accountant General Asked To Step Aside; Ofosuhene Takes Over

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked the acting Controller and Accountant General, Seidu Kotomah, to step aside for a former Controller, Eugene Ofosuhene, to take over, 3News can report. It is unclear what will happen to Mr Kotomah who was appointed by former President John Mahama in April 2016.

He has served in various capacities at the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department since 1989 . Successor His successor, Mr Ofosuhene, is a financial management expert who briefly [less than a year] served as Controller and Accountant-General.

He has facilitated several training in Ghana and Nigeria with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He has also served as resource person in several donor agencies and World Bank Assisted project in financial management training programmes Kotomah profile Mr. Kotomah occupied the position of Deputy Controller and Accountant General prior to his appointment for the top job. He held a number of significant positions, including the Director of Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS), Head of Payroll, Director of Internal Audit and Investigation and Head of Main Accounts. He has also served as Treasury Officer in Washington DC and Assistant Treasury Officer in London.

Mr Kotomah has been asked to step down for his deputy to take over from him Mr. Kotomah has a rich wealth of experience in Public Sector Accounting spanning over 26 years. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana). He also holds an MBA from Middlesex University, London and BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Ghana.
