“Winning The League Is Not Our Main Priority”

Klavs Rasmussen, the head coach of West African Football Academy (WAFA) has said his side is not aiming for the league glory, regardless of their current position as the league leaders.

In a post-match interview, the Danish manager said WAFA’s main target, was to remain in the Ghana Premier League at the end of the season not to be League Champions.

“We have not set a target of winning the Ghana Premier League, it is not the main priority of the club. We always want to stay in the league and at this moment, we do not have enough points to stay in the league so we have to work harder.

“I have always been asked if I want to win the league, it would be great, but I would ask you to take it easy for now, our priority is to stay in the league, develop the young players and then transfer them abroad that is it. They have to start playing well at the young age and be ready to face the world of football.

“We played one of our best away games, but unfortunately we lost, the game was quite similar to our home games where we take total control of the ball and to have possession but some little mistakes caused us the three points.

“At the moment we are very strong at both home and away and I am satisfied with our performance against Accra Hearts of Oak”. Rasmussen said.
