In a move to encourage regular interaction between Members of Parliaments and their constituents and to chart a path for unity and development at the constituency level, governance think-tank Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), in partnership with the French Embassy in Ghana, will tomorrow launch a project dubbed ‘Interface engagements for Members of Parliament and Constituents’ in Bibiani Anhweaso.

Being implemented in 13 out of the 26 constituencies in the Western region, the engagements are expected to bridge the communication gap between elected representatives, particularly MPs and their constituents.

It will also highlight the development challenges of the constituencies in order to guide the needed interventions that elected Members of Parliament (MPs) and the Metropolitan/Municipal/District Assemblies may design towards addressing
them in ensuring a focused development agenda for the constituencies.

The launch will bring together all relevant key stakeholders in the constituency to address issues directly affecting the constituents and create a platform devoid of political divisions.

Issues discussed on the platform will be documented and catalogued and presented to the District Assembly and the MP to serve as a constant reminder and a guide to the aspirations of the constituents.
