Govt Promises 1 Region, 1 Industrial Park

Government will establish industrial parks in all the 10 regions of the country as part of its efforts to create jobs, Trade Minister Alan Kyeremanten has said.

Speaking at a Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) and National Single Window Project event, Mr Kyerematen said: “With such industrial parks, companies can establish in each of the regions they prefer due to the available resources at the particular location.”

A Turkish firm has declared its intent to invest $150million into the projects.

On the facilitation agreement, Mr Kyeremanten said: “I see the combination of the enhanced trade facilitation and trade development programmes as a dynamic synergy for the economic development of our country.”

These developments, he said, are part of the government’s plans to change the way international businesses are regulated in the country by providing an enhanced business regulatory environment.
