I Will Rebrand Buem

Mr Lawrence Aziale, the new District Chief Executive (DCE) of Jasikan in the Buem Constituency of Volta Region has pledged to “rebrand" the District to attract investors.

He made the pledge after Assembly members endorsed him with an 89.47 per cent votes at a confirmation poll on Thursday.

Mr Aziale expressed gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for nominating him and said he would work with the chiefs, and other stakeholders to “reposition” the area as a commercial centre.

He said the predominantly farming population produced a wide variety of food crops in abundance, and gave the assurance of getting road networks developed to ease access to markets.

The DCE said his office would be non-partisan and would “leave a mark on the District”

One Assembly member was absent and 34 out of 38 members voted for him.

In a related development, the Akatsi South Assembly rejected the candidature of Mr Leo Nelson Adzidogah as District Chief Executive for the area.

He had only 18 votes out of 39, representing 46 per cent, making him ineligible for a second chance voting.

Five government appointees were replaced before the voting
