Zoomlion, an Environmental and Sanitation Company in the country had donated 20 motorbikes to some district Environmental and Sanitation Officers in the Northern Region to facilitate their monitoring activities.
The Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Steven Sumani Nayina, who presented the motorbikes to the officers in Tamale on Wednesday on behalf of the company, urged them to use them properly for the intended purpose.
He said the government was committed to the eradication of filth in rural and urban areas of the country.
Mr. Nayina urged the general public to keep their environments clean to avoid preventable diseases.
The Communication Officer of Zoomlion for the three Northern Regions, Mr. Francis Atayura Abirigo, said the company made the donation to assist the sanitation officers to be mobile in their daily supervisory activities.
He said the company had procured motor bikes for all the sanitation officers nationwide and would soon donate them to the beneficiaries.
The Officers thanked Zoomlion for the donation and promised to put them to good use.
