Five Suspected Criminals Arrested In Police Swoop At Cape Coast

Central Region Police has embarked on operation at some crime prone areas called Ntin a suburb of Cape Coast South Constituency in the Central Region.

Briefing the media Wednesday at the regional police headquarters at Cape Coast, the following suspects were arrested by the Police in the ongoing swoop; Bentil 18 years, Agbovie Mensah 22, Emmanuel Amoah 21, Ekow Ewisie 21 and Mustapha Mohammed 35 years.

Regional Police commander DCOP Rev. Ampah Benin explained that other suspects jumped into the sea to escape arrest.

According to him, the suspects abandoned exhibits at different locations.

The items included 123 pieces of wrapped plant material and quantity of seeds suspected to be narcotic drugs, 10 knives, 24 scissors, a hammer, crow bar, chisel, tape recorder, television set, quantity of materials used to administer narcotic drugs, 6 lighters, 27 CD and taxi cab with registration number GT 5383-12 suspected to be involved in goats stealing syndicate.

The police also burnt all the wooden structures erected by the suspects in the affected areas.

One of the suspects, Ekow Bentil was found with a wrapped material suspected to be narcotic drugs.

He mentioned that, the Police Service is going to embark on strategic swoops periodically to apprehend criminals from their hide outs.

Meanwhile all the suspects have been detained for further investigations.
