Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, founder of Glorious Word Ministry International has condemned the attempt by the General Secretary for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah to pin President Akufo-Addo to the death of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo is not the cause of the murder of Captain Mahama and other happenings as the foundation of evil seed was sown in the country during 2012 and 2016 elections.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Rev. Owusu Bempah insisted President Akufo-Addo’s government is being a recipient of the evil seed sown in the past.

The NDC General Secretary, popularly called General Mosquito, speaking to Okay FM noted that the horrifying murder happened "under the direct supervision of President Akufo-Addo".

“From the beating up of a serving police officer at the Flagstaff House to the beating up of a Regional Security Co-ordinator, the disruption of a court process, the burning of toll booths, and the molestation of civil servants, the lawless culture of impunity has now reached the doorstep of the Ghana Armed Forces...The State has watched and sponsored its goon squads to unleash wanton mayhem on innocent Ghanaians . . . This is highly unacceptable Mr. President," he stated emphatically.

But reacting to the statement by Asiedu Nketiah, Rev. Owusu Bempah averred that it is inappropriate to link President Akufo-Addo to the murder of Captain Mahama as the cause of mob action started long time ago.

“I disagree with anybody who will blame the President for the happenings in the country. Someone’s evil deeds in the past are the cause of the current happenings in Akufo-Addo’s administration. Who laid the foundation? What happened?” he quizzed.

“But I know my comment will attract political attack for speaking the truth about how some people made blood sacrifices for position and power in the country. This is the beginning of such barbaric behaviour we are seeing in the country. I want to make it known that we should not politicize this and nobody should say that Akufo-Addo should resign as President,” he asserted.

He maintained that the happenings in the country are not normal and that Ghanaians should not assess the situation from the canal perspective; reiterating that Ghana needs fervent prayers to avert the bloodshed in the country.
