Charlotte Nana Yaa Nikoi Of UNICEF Confirmed Dead

We have just received confirmation that a body discovered last Tuesday on Table Mountain, Cape Town, is indeed that of our Sister Charlotte Nana Yaa Nikoi. She went missing in that same area on 21st March 2017, during a hike with her husband and one of her three daughters.

Sister Nana Yaa was an Associate Director at UNICEF's Headquarters in New York and an active, supportive, and faithful member of the Ghanaian Family at the UN.

In a statement earlier today to all UNICEF worldwide, the Executive Director of UNICEF, Anthony Lake stated:
"Nana Yaa devoted the past 18 years of her life to the work and values of the United Nations. She began her UN career at the World Food Programme, where she rose through the ranks as a dedicated human resources officer. Following a post at the United Nations Population Fund, she joined UNICEF on secondment in 2016 as Associate Director in the Division of Human Resources, where she helped design and implement initiatives to strengthen UNICEF’s workforce and build our talent pool.

Those who knew and worked with Nana Yaa at UNICEF remember her as a warm, supportive colleague and friend with a bright smile who was always a pleasure to work with. She will be deeply missed. I know we all offer our particular condolences to her colleagues in DHR."

Here on Facebook, many of us have offered sincere prayers, concern, advice, and recommendations so Nana Yaa could be found, and be found alive. We thank every one for all that you did. May the soul of Charlotte Nana Yaa Nikoi rest in perfect peace, in the bosom of the LORD GOD our Maker.

PLEASE, as we thank you, we wish to request that you continue to pray for her husband and children, her mother and siblings and for her entire family, as well as friends and colleagues. They need comfort, strength, and peace as they grieve and mourn. "Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted" - Matthew 5:4.

MAY GOD BE WITH YOU, AND WITH US ALL. PEACE.
