Acting Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Alhassan Tampuli has revealed that one of the 10 trucks carrying about 65,000 litres of the contaminated fuel from the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Ltd (BOST) has gone missing.

“Ten trucks loaded with the contaminated fuel that left the premises of BOST, nine we have accounted for their cargos we are left with one. NPA tracking system indicates that it was offloaded at a location close to Zup Oil premises. Authorities plan to visit the location to ascertain whether it is still at this location or otherwise”, he disclosed on Accra-based Joy Fm.

He also indicated that the NPA is not in the position to categorically state if the contaminated fuel is being sold to customers at fuel stations but said that certainties will emerge by close of day today June 29, 2017 when investigations are complete.

Five million litres of fuel product was declared off-spec after going through an in-house technical assessment and a laboratory test by the Tema Oil Refinery. It followed what BOST termed as “human error” which led to the contamination of the product which is said to have resulted in GH ¢7 million loss of revenue to the state.

Calls have been intensified for the immediate interdiction of Alfred Obeng Boateng because he is alleged to be complicit in the entire stinky deal.

But The Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) says the controversy over the sale of contaminated fuel is serving no purpose other than to distract from the financial rot overseen by the immediate past BOST Managing Director, Kingsley Kwame Awuah-Darko.
