Nurses urged to infuse business principles in their work- Nyante

Mr Felix Nyante, Deputy Registrar of the Nurses and Midwives Council has advised medical professionals to infuse private business principles into public health service to facilitate the best practices for patients. Speaking at the end of a five-day-workshop organised by the Koforidua Regional Hospital in collaboration with the council to upgrade the knowledge of nurses and midwives on Tuesday, he urged them to learn the codes governing their profession to know what they could do legally in the absence of a medical doctor. Mr Nyante expressed appreciation to the management of the hospital for organising the workshop, saying such in-service training often help workers to improve upon their performance. The Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Obeng Apori, called on the participants to put what they had leant into practice to help raise the quality of nursing and midwives practice at the medical facility. He advised the participants to share the knowledge they had acquired with other nurses and midwives who were not at the workshop. The workshop was attended by 122 participants.
