The Volta Trade and Investment Fair is to be extended beyond the borders of the country to give it an international appeal. Mr. Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister, who stated this at the official closing ceremony of the maiden fair described the seven days event as very successful and would be made a yearly event. He expressed the hope that local and international investors would take advantage of opportunities presented by the Fair and invest in the Region. Mrs. Juliana Azumah Mensah, Minister of Tourism, urged people from the Region to patronize domestic tourism. She admonished organizers of the Fair to use knowledge acquired at the Fair to promote tourism in the Region. The seven days event attracted exhibitors from all the districts in the Region and witnessed an overwhelming patronage. A British Investor, Mr. Graham Smith described the Fair as impressive and said it had the potential of changing the socio-economic status of the Region. Many other individuals the GNA spoke to lauded the Fair and praised the organizers for the foresight.
