EPP Books, a publishing and book selling company, has awarded scholarships to two final year students of College of Art and Social Sciences (CASS) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Mr Medicus Appiah of the Department of Painting and Sculpture and Mr Elkanah Kwadwo Mpesum, Department of Communication Design, would each receive GH2000 as a result of their outstanding academic works. Additionally, they would be attached to the company for National Service after which they would be permanently engaged. Mrs Joyce Boeh-Ocansey, General Manager of the company, told GNA that the Company was impressed by the quality of work that the beneficiaries carried out in the production of some books. She said that out of its staff of 19, 12 were products of the CASS and were working diligently. Professor Daniel Bour, Provost of the College, commended the company for awarding scholarships to the students to enable them to complete their courses and called for collaboration between industry and academia in the training of students. Mr Mpesum thanked EPP Books for the support and pledged that they (beneficiaries of the scholarships) would work harder to enable them achieve their academic objectives.
