No One Can Retire Me From Black Stars – Asamoah Gyan

The captain of Ghana’s national team Black Stars Asamoah Gyan has stated that no one can retire him from the team except God.

The skipper has scored 51 goals in 105 appearances, making him the top scorer among his peers.

He stated that he will not kowtow to undue pressures from a section of Ghanaians to hang his boots prematurely.

According to him, though he will retire one day, the time for him to retire has not come yet calling on his detractors to stop wasting their time.

Asamoah Gyan indicated that its highly impossible for the country to delete his performances from history books.

“In this world, things are obvious and it happens in every institution but I know I won’t play the national team till the end of my life so I will one-day say goodbye to the nation.

“My records for the national team can’t be erased, yes it can’t be erased and no one can retire me from the national, is only God and time,” Asamoah Gyan told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

His comment comes after he was heavily criticised by some Ghanaians to retire arguing that he has lost his relevance in the national team.

Ghana drew 1-1 against Congo Brazzaville at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi during the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier weeks ago.
