Mills Snubs Nana Addo

President John Evans Atta Mills who wants to be hailed as the �Father of All� last Saturday demonstrated that he could not tolerate divergent views after all; when he openly snubbed the 2008 presidential candidate of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo at the 10th Anniversary celebration of the Okyehene, Nana Amoatia Ofori Panin, Chief of Akyem Abuakwa, in the Easter Region. At the instance of Nana Amoatia Ofori Panin II, the NPP power broker who is also a Royal of Akyem was sitting next to the chief when the President arrived with his entourage at around 2:30pm at the durbar ground. But to the utter dismay of onlookers and the gathered dignitaries, President Mills after exchanging pleasantries with some of the dignitaries, could-shouldered the 2009 presidential candidate and went straight to take his seat. Majority of the people present at the Durbar, were looking forward to see how the �father for all president� would relate to Nana Akuffo-Addo upon his arrival, but were surprised and taken aback to see President Mills snub Nana Akufo-Addo in that manner. �We believe that President Mills could have demonstrated to supporters of all political parties present at the durbar, particularly those of the NPP that NDC that politics can be done in a cordial and coherent manner from the top of the bottom with the leaders of political parties setting this very important and crucial tone. His actions tell us, however, that President Mills� incessant repetition of him being father for all is a mere political rhetoric and one aimed at winning the confidence and votes of the majority of Ghanaians for the sake of it and for the love of the people�, one of the shocked dignitaries told
