Sack All NPP Appointees - Ayariga

The public have not taken kindly to the statement made by Mr. Mahama Ayariga, the Presidential Spokesman that the Mills administration will not cause the dismissal of civil servants simply on the account of their political affiliations. In a survey conducted by the Ghana Palaver, the public said it seemed the president was not firmly on the ground to know the havoc these New Patriotic Party (NPP) appointees were causing the government. They maintained that the Presidential team must be advising the President wrongly for no one was calling for the removal of bonafide civil servants with political affiliations but those NPP members brought in by the NPP government politically during its administration and still being maintained. According to them, it is these NPP politically appointees who were currently carrying out the sabotage agenda of the NPP to discredit the NDC government. Those interviewed averred that it was not only in the civil service that these people could be found. They have been strategically placed in all areas of governance including even the Castle, the military and the police, where they steal confidential documents to NPP Newspapers as part of their destructive agenda. Some even went further to state that the current and the recent power outages, especially the one that hit the country on Tuesday and the water shortage that has hit Accra for some time now were deliberate sabotage coming from these NPP appointees just to embarrass the government to make Ghanaians believe that Atta Mills has failed Ghanaians. Dr. Joseph Ahenkorah, a consultant Mills was not seeing what these NPP-placed workers were doing to his government. It saddened him that these people were not removed immediately by the NDC when it came to power as the NPP did when they took over the government machinery from the NDC in 2000. Mrs. Rebecca Atswei Korley, a civil servant, said what was happening should wake up the Mills administration for documents were secretly stolen and photocopied by some of these NPP placed workers. What they do with these photo-copied documents could not be known but could be read the following day in papers like Daily Guide, New Crusading Guide, the Observer, the New Punch and other NPP newspapers. Please Atta Mills, Dont be too angelic. Sack these people now, she bemoaned. A staff sergeant (name withheld) said it was good that Damuah was axed from the army. He said though he was a good officer, he later sold his allegiance to the NPP and paid dearly for it. He said the military should not be politicized and advised the directorate of public relations of the Ghana Armed Forces to monitor it staff to avoid the leakages of military documents falling into the hand of wrong persons especially the NPP newspapers. Rachel Asante, a university student, was not happy with the people around the president. She said though they are not near the president, they are aware of the ploys of these NPP appointees and they should be sacked immediately. As for Ayariga, he should retract his statement, she added. What the Ghana Palaver gathered was that irrespective of the stand of the president, these NPP politically appointees at government ministries and departments should be sacked immediately to avoid the derailment of the present governments policies.
