Criminal cases in A-E-E set to reduce

The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District of the Central Region has this year recorded 249 criminal cases, an indication that the annual level would drop from last year's total of 277. The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Seth Tay, made the statement when addressing the Ajumako Traditional Council, at Ajumako. He said stealing cases were 53 so far, while last year's total was 72. He attributed the signs of reduction to the hard work of the Police and some stakeholders. The Police Commander appealed to communities wishing to form Neighbourhood Watchdog Committees to contact his office for guidelines and support. The Omanhene and President of the Council, Nana Kwamena Hammah Ababio II, expressed concern about the improper dressing of some of the youth in the area. He, therefore, urged the chiefs, religious leaders and other stakeholders in the area to help to enact bye-laws with punitive measures to stop the indecent practice.
