The General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev. Fred Degbe, has described the two pastors in the centre of the religious verbal warfare and allegations of smear campaigns as making a mockery of themselves. Rev. Degbe described both Bishop Daniel Obinim, General Overseer of International God�s Way Church and Rev. Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, Founder and Leader of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre as acting contrary to what is ascribed in the Word of God. Speaking during an interview on Joy FM, the Christian Council�s Chief Scribe expressed his disappointment at the manner in which the two are carrying the name of God in vain with their acts. �No church will uphold this, the Bible does not teach this, the only thing it says is that in the last days, there will be people who claim to be Christians but you will know them by their fruits. When you see these types of things, then you will know where they are coming from and you will have to make a decision, whether you, as a member would want to belong to that church or you want to support what they are doing,� he stated. He continued; �If you put your trust in a human being you can be disappointed, but if you know that human beings are tools or agents that God uses, then you can isolate the case and say; these people we thought were people of God, were genuine by the fruit that they are bearing or the light that is emanating from them, is not bright enough, let�s go somewhere else,� he stated. He however, strongly pointed out that, there are �thousands of pastors� who are genuinely and sincerely doing the work of God. �Just as it pertains in every profession, you may come across a bad nut every once in a while but, then you decide to make your opinion about them rather than condemn the whole profession because of the bad nuts,� he added According to Rev. Fred Degbe, it will be almost childish for anybody to assert that because of these two pastors, �he does not believe in God or that he will not go to church again. �The church has more to offer than these poor� that we are seeing now,� he added. Meanwhile, the accusations and counter-accusations and the battle for �spiritual superiority�, if it can be described as that, between Bishop Daniel Obinim and Rev. Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom is not decreasing a bit, not with the Bishop accusing the Reverend of being the brain behind a plot to discredit him, by securing the services of one Pastor Frank Annor, to bury �juju� items behind the premises of Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre.
