Kwesi Pratt And Alhaji Baturet Attacked By NDC Foot Soldiers

Alhaji Idrissu Bature and Kwesi Pratt have been attacked by some party foot soldiers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) over comments made about former president Rawlings. Alhaji Bature (NDC) and Kwesi Pratt (CPP) are both accused of being members of the CPP and that, they are bent on dividing the NDC for their own selfish interest.Mr Joseph Kwaku Anang, a foot soldier and the general secretary of the Business Supporting Businesses Association of the NDC told Citi FM news that, he is confident about his accusations that, Alhaji Bature is a CPP member. ...If you want to see some evidence around him, it is difficult to tell but deep inside, everybody knows Alhaji Bature is a CPP man. That is why the Business Supporting Businesses Association is saying that they should go there and support the CPP, organise it well so that they also become strong like the NDC is at the moment, he said. He said the various comments made by two personalities were intended to cause disaffection for the NDC.Although he did not give names, Mr Anang alleged that Mr Pratt and Alhaji Bature were being bought by some individuals to destroy the party and undermine former president Rawlings. Alhaji Bature reacting to the allegations said, he does not think it was a crime to belong to any political grouping and denied being a member of the CPP. He described the comments as very unfortunate and made by an ignorant group of people.Any Ghanaian has the right to talk about and comment on what happens in any opposition party let alone a ruling government... When we were speaking and then it was to the benefit of the NDC, that one somebody was not paying us. Eight years that the NDC was in opposition and our voices were being heard loud and clear, always against the NPP, does it mean that the NDC paid us to also work against the NPP?" Alhaji Bature described the groups action and their failure to mention their so called financiers as a sign of cowardice. He also claimed the members of the group were being paid to dent the image of himself and Mr Pratt stopping short of mentioning the names of the groups financiers. ...we will not be intimidated. Our commitment to this country is irrevocable...we have done it eight years under the Kufuor regime and we will continue to do it under the NDC regime, whether they like it or not, nothing is going to stop us. We will speak up and expose all the [hypocrisy] that is going on in this party.
