Jehovah's Witnesses hold four-day convention in Kumasi

The Jehovah's Witnesses would from Thursday, December 3, hold a four-day convention at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to deepen understanding of the teachings of the Bible. It would highlight the dangers of indifference and apathy towards coming global changes predicted by the Bible. "Keep on the Watch", is the theme. A Statement signed by Mr B.K. Gyimah, the Convention's News Overseer, said key biblical texts explaining the meaning of what "many people refer to as the end of the world" would be thoroughly discussed. It noted the different views about "the end of the world" and said the Witnesses "feel that what the Bible teaches on the matter is enlightening, sobering and meaningful." It said the public discourse would be based on analytical approach and not on fanaticism. The statement said the need to ensure that families are adequately prepared spiritually to face the future with confidence would also find space during the convention. Admission, it said, is going to be free and that no collections would be taken.
