Atebubu College Holds 10th Matriculation

Atebubu College of Education has held its 10th Matriculation ceremony to welcome four hundred newly admitted students to the college.

Addressing the matriculants at a colourful event at the college premises, the Principal of the College, Mr.Wayo Zakaria urged the students to take their studies seriously by integrating academic excellence with other aspect of their life.

He also encouraged them to develop effective strategies to manage their time for study, leisure and work.

He further stressed that their studies will not be complete without components such as moral and spiritual uprightness, and urged them to "seek for permission when ever they want to leave campus or go to town."

On her part, the Queen mother of Atebubu Traditional Council, Nana Effuah Donyina, who was the Special Guest also appealed to the female matriculants to be serious on their books so that they can become our future leaders.

Whiles pledging her assistance to help make the college one of the best institutions of higher learning within the area, she also warned the students to "desist from wearing short skirts" because that is "not our culture".

"....my doors are always open for the college at any time the authorities call on me for help," she added.

In all, a total of two thousand four hundred and thirty one (2,431) applications were received but only four hundred (400) were able to gain admission to pursue diploma in basic education.

Out of the 400 matriculants, 146 were females and 254 males.
