Man Arrested For Stealing Mobile Phones

An unemployed man, Nana Kofi Mensah, has been arrested by the Takoradi Police, for attacking and stealing phones, belonging to Miss Evelyn Nana Efua, a teacher at the Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI).

Mensah, who admitted committing the crime, was in police custody to appear in court, on November 28.

The accused, according to the police, ambushed Nana Efua and stole her mobile phones, but students of Takoradi Senior High School grabbed him.

His accomplice, Nana Yaw, is at large, and is being sought by the police.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, confirmed the story to the Ghanaian Times.

She said the suspect attacked the victim and demanded her mobile phones, but she refused. The suspect threatened, and sensing danger she obliged.

ASP Adiku said Nana Mensah, after collecting the phones, gave them to Nana Yaw, and Nana Efua raised the alarm, and the students rescued her and apprehended the accused.
