Hundreds Of Customers Flood ECG Office For Prepaid Credit (Photos + Video)

For three months now Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has been finding it difficult to serve Ghanaians especially those in some parts of the Greater Accra Region due to its unstable prepaid system.

This has resulted in customers forming long queues for many hours to purchase "uavailable" credit for their prepaid meters.

But ECG has not been forthcoming with any explanation for this disturbing trend.

Earlier this week, the issue escalated to the point that some customers of ECG had to journey across town to the main ECG office at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle to get refills.

As early as 3am on Wednesday December 6, hundreds of customers were seen at some ECG offices in long, winding queues waiting for their turn to purchase prepaid credit.

In the video intercepted by Peacefmonline.com, it shows of some frustrated customers who have been in the queues for many hours without being served and without knowing when it will get to their turn.

They people are calling for a government intervention to solve the prepaid credit problem.

Meanwhile, Head of Communications at ECG, Mr. William Boateng has indicated that the challenge is due to server hitches and technical experts are working to restore the anomaly as soon as possible.
