The Fate of some 10 students of Central University hangs in the balance following the university’s decision to withhold their results for purported examination malpractices.

The students were expected to graduate last Saturday but their names were not included in the exercise.

The Academic Board of the university that approves results for graduating students withheld the results and certificates after a crunch meeting over alleged examination malpractices.

Professor Bill Buenar Puplampu, Vice-Chancellor of the University, made this known during the university’s 16th congregation at its main campus at Miotso, near Prampram in the Greater Accra Region.

After announcing the action, he further stated, “My third point derives from the second point, that rule violating behaviour has consequences, especially where those rules relate to access to formal rights and privileges.”

The vice-chancellor advised the graduands to avoid short-cuts to wealth, prominence and presumed stature.

Prof. Puplampu charged the graduands, “As you step into your world of work, please note: progress is a painstaking process of iterative development, step by step, success by success, failure followed by lessons, followed by development in cumulative and incremental jumps.”

He requested of the graduands to be good ambassadors of the university and be guided by faith, integrity and excellence – which are the core values of the institution.
