Expatriates Charged $100,000 To Sit By Akufo-Addo – Muntaka

Expatriates who work in Ghana were recently charged between a whopping between 25,000 to 100,000 dollars to share the same table with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at an awards ceremony, the Member of Parliament for Asawase, Muntaka Mubarak has claimed.

According to Hon. Mubarak, the fees charged at the Ghana Expatriate Business Awards were not approved by Parliament, adding that the monies accrued were also not accounted for in the Internally Generated Funds [IGF] of the Ministry’s accounts.

The Ghana Business Expatriates awards held on December 8 at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra where Twenty-four expatriate businesses operating in the country were honoured for their outstanding performance over the years.

The Minority Chief whip who was speaking in Parliament during the debate on the 2018 budget estimate for the Ministry of Trade and Industry, tendered a document signed by the deputy Minister for Trade and Industry Carlos Ahenkora dated 23rd October 2017, demanding Business executives who would want to sit in a round table with the president and have exclusive access to pay US$ 100,000

The Asawase MP later told Kasapa News that the information he stumbled upon as it were gives credence to the allegation by Hon. Ken Agyepong that huge sums of US dollars are demanded at the seat of government before one can have audience with President Akufo Addo.
