Yusif Abubakar Not Impressed With Referee's Performance

Yusif Abubakar, head coach of Aduana Stars football club, has expressed dissatisfaction in officiating following their 2-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko in the last match of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) G-8 Tournament.

The Dormaa based side suffered their first defeat in Group A of the tournament at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking to the press after the game, coach Abubakar said referee made many questionable calls which affected the beauty of the game.

According to the coach, a good officiating could have perhaps changed the results.

"We played a very high temperamental game with questionable officiating. The referee's performance affected both sides, not only Aduana.

"I don't want to take anything away from Kotoko but I think some of the referee's decisions affected the result and the beauty of the game." Coach Abubakar Said

The head Coach of the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League champions added that Kotoko were not really better than his side as the scoreline may depict.

He said Aduana Stars would be stronger in the semi finals despite defeat against Kotoko.

"Kotoko were not better than us even when we were a man down. They were just determined to win the game and qualify to the next round.

"We should have controlled the tempo of the game, especially in the first half perhaps we could have won.We have lost and we have to go and prepare stronger for the semi finals". Said Yusif Abubakar
