MP’s Must Mandatory Account To The Special Prosecutor’s Office - NPP MP

Member of Parliament [MP] for Ablekuma Central constituency, Ebenezer Nartey has asked authorities of the Special Prosecutors committee to reconsider including Members of Parliament in their probes.

To him, such a measure will keep them in check to use the funds given them for the projects they were allocated for, and as well be transparent in their daily activities in connection with their honorable positions.

“I will be glad if the office of the Special Prosecutor extends its duties to probe Members of Parliament, specifically on how they spend their common fund and on what”, he said.

According to him this is because a lot of MP’s are seen and painted as not embarking on any developmental projects with the funds given them for projects to build up their constituencies.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ show, Ebenezer Nartey said that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will not in any form cover-up any corrupt official in his government as members of the opposition party continue to allege.

He said the President as we have heard speaking and warning citizens at large on corruption cases will never change his mind on that stand since it’s one of his greatest priority as a President.
