Once again Mr. Kwame Pianim, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has risen to the occasion and proven that it is possible to rise above partisan political considerations. He has shown that there are still some Ghanaian politicians who value the truth more than the advantages which may accrue to their parties. A couple of days ago, Mr. Pianim who suffered years of imprisonment under Rawlings declared publicly that Professor Mills, the current President is not a thief. By this declaration, Mr. Pianim was re-echoing the point that no matter what his faults may be, the current President�s personal integrity is unassailable. Mr. Kwame Pianim is currently setting very high standards for Ghanaian politicians. Not all of us may agree with his ideological and political positions but we cannot help but respect his honesty.
