NDC Changed Names Of Gitmo 2 - Joyce Zempare

The Greater Accra Regional Women’s Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Joyce Zempare popularly known as JAY-ZEE has indicated that the then Governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by ex-president John Dramani Mahama tied the hands of the NPP by granting refugee status to the Guantanamo bay detainees popularly referred to as Gitmo two living in the country.

According to Joyce Zempare, there is no single document covering the refugee status of the two detainees brought into the country by the United States of America (USA) on the approval of the NDC.

She revealed that NDC never prepared any handing over notes on the status of the two detainees when leaving office.

The regional women’s organizer now vying for the National Women’s Organizer position of the party alleged that the NDC granted the detainees travel document and ended up changing their names too.
She alleged that NDC gave the two Ghanaian names to aid their movements in the country.

The tough –talking politician made this comment on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show on happy fm.

She explained that even the two detainees do not qualify to be granted refugee status but the then governing NDC granted them that status in the country adding that even that there is no document covering that.

She added that per the agreement the NDC government had with the USA government and the two detainees there was no exit plan.

She gave the assurance that the government is consulting on the matter for the two to be relocated to Morocco.

“The Moroccan government has indicated it preparedness to admit the two once the contract covering their stay in the country has fully expired” she said.
