Let There Be Decorum In Parliament . . . Stop Your Heckles - Kwesi Pratt

Kwesi Pratt has lambasted Members of Parliament for heckling President Nana Akufo-Addo during his State of the Nation Address.

President Akufo-Addo, who appeared before the House Thursday morning, February 8, 2018, was met with heckles from the Minority who also kept repeating the portion of the National Anthem which says "...help us resist oppressor's rule", as their way of protesting the speech by the President even before he begun to deliver.

Though this appears to be a normal practice in Parliament since both sides - Majority and Minority - are either found heckling or cheering up the President, Kwesi Pratt strongly holds such behaviour of the MPs doesn't speak well of the House.

According to him, there should be decorum in the House.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, the seasoned journalist stated emphatically that "it is a bad part of Parliamentary practice" and should be discouraged by leadership of the House.

"There should be some decorum in Parliament. We want to hear what the President says. We want to assess it to know the good or bad in it", he added.
