Suspended Second Vice Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Crabbe, has entered the chairmanship race.
Mr Crabbe confirmed his intention to classfmonline.com on Monday, 12 February.
A poster for his campaign says he intends to “build a party for all.”
The poster markets him as having a “proven track record in championing the rights and welfare of all party executives and members”.
A year to the 2016 general elections, the National Executive Committee of the NPP suspended Mr Crabbe indefinitely alongside General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and then-Chairman Paul Afoko, for, among other things, making utterances that were injurious to the chances of then-presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo.
Their suspension has not yet been reversed. That notwithstanding, Mr Crabbe has entered the race to give Acting Chairman Freddy Blay some competition.
