Haruna Commends President Akufo-Addo

Mr. Aziz Haruna Futah, aspiring candidate for the National Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has commenced the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the “one constituency, one Astro turf” policy announced in the 2018 State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Under this policy, each constituency would be provided with one astro turf, as part of efforts to develop football and to discover more talents in the country.

According to President Akufo-Addo, each constituency especially, the Zongo communities would be provided with the football pitches as part of efforts to develop the game.

Speaking to the GNA Sports in an interview, Mr Haruna Futah, said the initiative is one of the major solutions to the development of the Zongo communities in the country.

“This would go a long way to help curb social vices in our communities and also provide employment for the youth.

“Take a look at some of the great footballers we have had in this country, most of them were from the Zongo communities and therefore such pitches would help identify and groom more young players for the nation,” he added.

Mr. Haruna Futah, said the policy also reflects the vision of the president to help the poor especially those from the Zongo communities.

“Those of us from the Zongo communities have seen the great efforts of the president in ensuring that we have our fair share of the national cake.

“I am happy the president is gradually fulfilling the promises he made to us and we are convinced by 2020, our country would see more developments,” he added.

Mr. Haruna Futah, was once a management member of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club limited and leader of the supporters union of the club - Nima Chapter “O”.
