Top actress Akorfa Asiedu Ejeani has reacted to Leila Djensi�s public outburst on how she (Leila) has regretted allowing her (Akorfa) to play the lead character.
Leila is the director of �I Sing Of A Well�, in which Akorfa acts as both cast member and producer. Akorfa told BEATWAVES on Friday that she would rather prefer to be quiet. According to her, she is not ready to battle or talk about the problem. In her opinion, it would be too childish.
�I am not ready to go into this. It will be too childish to react to whatever she has said. Just tell her that�, she said over phone. In an exclusive with BEATWAVES last Tuesday, Leila revealed that she has regretted using Akorfa as the lead character in the movie.
Akorfa's role, according to Leila, has negatively affected the movie because in her opinion she (Akorfa) deprived the movie of �star power�. �I Sing Of A Well is an elitist movie. It is very polished. There is no screaming, there is no over-the-top comedy. But what it needed was a quite spark, with somebody like Naa Ashokor to play the lead.
It needs star power, and that is what it does not have. Somebody gave an analogy that if there is an option to choose between Kojo Antwi and Becca, everybody will go for Becca because she is fresh, young and new. That is what it is�, she said.
Leila continued that Akorfa is not a face that commands attention at the moment. According to her, Akorfa insisted on being the lead character, although she is already a producer, because she wants to compete with the likes of Nadia Buari and Jackie Appiah.
