Amidu Needs To Apologize To Ex-Prez Mahama - Allotey Jacobs

NDC Central Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacobs has asked Martin Amidu to render an apology to former President John Dramani Mahama.

It would be recalled that before Martin Amidu's appointment as Special Prosecutor, he had made several claims of corruption against the National Democratic Congress.

He accused the previous Mahama administration of being corrupt.

But during his vetting on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 before the Appointments Committee of Parliament, Mr. Amidu made the Appointments Committee and Ghanaians aware that his allegations of corruption against former President John Mahama were based on perceptions.

Nonetheless, he challenged any person to file a law suit against him and he will be ready to appear before court to support his allegations.

Mr. Amidu has however been approved by the Appointments Committee and he now becomes Ghana's first Special Prosecutor charged with the responsibility to investigate corruption-related offences of all persons in the country.

Allotey Jacobs told host of Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kwami Sefa Kayi that for Mr. Amidu to have admitted he made those allegations on the basis of perception, “he needs to apologize to the former President saying I’m sorry, it was just a perception and so let sleeping dogs lie".
