League Delay Helping Clubs Fix Their Teams - Oti Akenten

The Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Oti Akenteng believes the delay in the league no matter how unwanted is helping some clubs to streamline things ahead of their opening games.

With the start of the league still unknown, clubs have resorted to playing friendly matches to keep their teams in good shape. Hearts of Oak last Sunday played as guests of Dreams FC at Dawu for example. A host of other friendly matches are coming up this weekend.

This, for Oti Akenten, will see more quality performance from the teams when the league finally starts.

“Indeed, the delay in the start of the league is a worry to most of the club chairmen and their administrators. But I believe that this period is being used to streamline activities in both the playing body and the clubs as well” he said.

“Not only the Premier League clubs, but also the many Division One team all over the country are using this time to do a lot, so that, when the season starts, [they] will not encounter any problems. We are all praying that this matter will be resolved quickly so that the season will start” he added.
