Students urged to do away with the fear of witchcraft

The Chairman of the Board of Governors of Ekumfi T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, Alhaji Hafiz Ahmed Jibreal Saeed has exhorted students not to allow the fear of witchcraft to affect their studies. He said though witchcrafts exist, as students of a religious institution like T.I. Ahmadiyya, they must believe that the powers of witchcraft, does not supersede that of Allah. Addressing students of the school as part of the preparations towards the 37th speech and prize-giving day slated for Saturday, December 19, Alhaji Saeed noted that some Muslims and Christians were scared of witchcrafts to the extent that they even fear to go to their home towns. Some parents have cautioned their children against going to perform projects in their home towns. This, Alhaji Saeed said, had affected the development of rural communities to a great extent. He said people have made the cities and urban centres their homes as if the witches were afraid of the cities. "It is time we do away with this misconception, to pave way for our development", he stressed. The Board Chairman told the students that there was no short cut to success in life, therefore they should not think of going for juju, occultism or any other thing to enhance their studies. He cautioned them against the practice of Sakawa, which could destroy their lives in future. "You must stay away from anything, which will not promote your spiritual development," he said. Mr Issah Mumuni Dmbie, Headmaster, commended the students for their tolerance and understanding of the difficult conditions in the school. He was happy with the level of discipline in the school and urged them to maintain the standard.
