The Principal of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Missionary Training Collect at Ekumfi Ekrawfo, Maulvi Hameed Ullah Zafar, has cautioned students to beware of peer pressures without thinking about the end result.
Maulvi Zafar was speaking at a symposium organized by the Ekumfi, T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School at Ekumff Essarkyir, as part of activities to herald the 37th speech and prize -giving day of the school, slated for December 19.
The principal admonished the students to be righteous since they were created in the image of God, saying that, "God is righteous, so we, created in his image must also be righteous, Maulvi Zafar stressed.
He said every religion preached righteousness but wondered why indiscipline was on the ascendancy despite the fact that about 90 per cent of Ghanaians were religious.
Maulvi Zafar cautioned the youth to know the background of people they associate with, since "the quality of your friend determines your character and that if you move with a drunkard or a smoker, you would be tempted to become a drunkard or a smoker".
Two old students of the school Mr Ibrahim Adams Sagoe, a Chartered Accountant of Alfco Fisheries and Mr Abdul Wahab Adams, Assistant Administrator, Institute of Architecture and Engineering, advised the students to be of good behaviour and urged them to take advantage of the improved facilities in the school "to better their lot".
